LHHS students attend Thespian Festival in Nebraska

Lake Havasu High School had a successful trip to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for the International Thespian Festival! Twenty two students attended and competed in small group musical, monologue, duet scene, solo musical theatre, and costume design. Five students brought home the ranking of “superior” for their events. Allison Morones, costume design competitor, ranked as one of the top three in the nation and Tarnim Bybee was selected to participate in the opening ceremonies “An Evening with Alan Menken.” She worked with his creative team to kick off the festival! Along with this, Betsy Altamirano and Zoe Killian were selected to participate in Musicalworks. They worked with others to create the opening number of a never before seen, student written musical which was presented at closing ceremonies!

Students were able to attend theatre productions from all over the country, participate in workshops and work with industry professionals during this valuable learning experience. Congratulations to the Lake Havasu Thespians from the WAVE JTED!
